Class Descriptions

Yin

Long-held, floor-based poses to restore your ligaments, tendons, fascia and bones. The practice offers increased mobility, flexibility and bone density, while calming your nervous system.

Yindra

A combination of yin and yoga nidra meditation. We start with yin then move into meditation. This class is a nurturing practice for your body and mind.

Slow Yoga

We start with Pranayama (breathing exercises), then come into slow flowing movement to mobilise the joints and awaken the muscles. We finish with restful, long-held restorative poses to calm the mind and sooth the nervous system.

Meditation Circle

A guided meditation practice that is tailored to what you need in the moment. The style, Yoga Nidra iRest, is a blend of traditional yoga nidra meditation, modern psychology and neuroscience. This is an immensely powerful evidence-based technique for deep relaxation and healing for both mind and body. The practice will provide you with an alternate way to process emotions, thoughts and beliefs. As such, this method has been largely practiced for PTSD.

Sherrie Laryse

Sherrie Laryse

Hello, I’m Sherrie. This is my studio and I teach all classes.

YOGA, MEDITATION, AND MENTAL HEALTH

I have extensive experience teaching yoga, and was employed by Foxtel to teach yin on a television program for pain management. I have a degree in Cognitive and Brain Science meaning I understand how to nurture your nervous system.

Training in multiple styles of meditation combined with a second degree in Psychological Anthropology means I appreciate the wonders and uniqueness of each mind. I offer private consultations teaching techniques to overcome distress, regulate emotions, and build a better relationship with your body.

ABOUT ME

I have authored two books about using meditation and emotion regulation techniques to overcome life's challenges. Both books are spiritual memoirs where I use myself as the case study. These memoirs fall into the category of bibliotherapy, where readers sub-consciously apply the techniques and lessons to their own life circumstances while getting lost in someone else's story.

You can find more information about me here.
